I have anxiously awaited a snow day for years now. For some unknown reason, the year that I returned to full-time employment as a teacher and administrator was the last year of the coveted snow days that teachers and students crave alike.
But today, I awoke to snow. Real snow (at least by North Carolina standards). A day to watch a historic inauguration, put the final touches on a landscape watercolor class that was supposed to start today, and make some art (I hope). It is also a day to make hot chocolate and grilled cheese sandwiches for my girls and watch them go in and out of the front door a thousand times. They are scrambling around in the attic to find anything resembling snow attire!
